There is a NEW minimum requirement for ALL belt ranks. They are as follows:
| Yellow and Orange Belts | 30 classes |
| Green Belts | 35 classes |
| Purple Belts | 40 classes |
| Blue Belts | 45 classes |
| Red Belts | 50 classes |
| Brown Belts | 55 classes |
| Black Belts | Assist 20 classes |
You must know your Kata very fluently. That means good basics make a stronger foundation. Your Kata must have strong, accurate techniques, strong low stances and crisp/sharp arm techniques. You can perform your Kata with no hesitations or doubts.
Defenses always seem to pose a problem. If you feel you do not have full knowledge of your defenses “DON’T ASK TO GRADE”. Seek help from a Sensei, Sempai or any higher ranking belt. ALWAYS make us aware if you do not understand something.
“Mind reading is not a Black Belt Requirement” - We do not know unless you tell us.
When you and Sensei are satisfied with your performance then you may have a grading application. Return it promptly, please.
In your grading as well as your regular classes we expect you to give 110%. If you pay attention in class and behave in a respectful manner at all times in and out of the Dojo then you should have no problems. As I have said many times before, your grading begins the moment you enter the school and your behavior and attitude at home and school are also taken into account.
Remember your advancement in the Martial Arts is based on your efforts and yours alone. We can provide you with all the tools, Basics, Kata, Self-Defense & Sparring. What you do with it is up to you.
